Getting Rowdy in Deptford!!!

Rowdy is a new burger and dessert restaurant and takeaway, opened up just by Deptford Bridge in South East London. They got in touch in January, looking to bring their edgy retro aesthetic alive on the walls. The Rowdy vibe is inspired by Grand Theft Auto’s fast-living, hard-hitting lifestyle and the shop needed visuals to match.

I’m a gaming novice, but luckily I had experts at hand with Ciarán and business owner Usman feeding me inspo pics from the games, fan-art and slick synthwave wallpapers. The result is two distinct walls in one palette; the first is a car-chase against a Miami/London sunset skyline, the other an ode to gangster life in the style of GTA cover art.

I had a LOT of fun painting at Rowdy, plus their Rowdy Original chicken burger is fab. Drop round and soak up the vibes!
