Goodbye Greenwich
After just over two years later, it’s time to say Goodbye to Royal Museums Greenwich. It’s been a great adventure across the seas and sky, back in time and back to the kitchen table.
On Monday I start a new parental cover contract as Events Manager at the Paul Mellon Centre. Whilst I’m so excited about returning to the city and to visual arts (Queen’s House notwithstanding), few could argue that RMG is amongst the most idyllic spots to work in London.
Development’s Northern Lights coming 2nd at the RMG Xmas Fancy Dress Comp ‘19
Excusing the well-worn cliche, but the people really did make the museum. I’ve yet to come across a friendlier, nerdier, boozier gaggle of co-workers. Managing events I had the privilege of working across four sites and every department and am lucky to count colleagues not just from Development, but curatorial, press, marketing, commercial, IT, astronomy, shipkeeping, front of house, operations, bookings, collections, finance, directorate, and security as good friends - not to mention all my favourite caterers and techies!
A huge thank you to Marianne, Sarah N and the whole development team for giving me a digi-send-off and a reimagining as Gráinne Mhaol. Looking forward to the summer sunshine and a proper goodbye at Greenwich Tavern someday soon.
