RMG Live: Exposure: Lives at Sea Panel Discussion

Following on from the Sneak Preview on Friday 20th, RMG ran an Exposure: Lives at Sea panel discussion for members and patrons on 24 November. Joining Director Paddy Rodgers and exhibition curator Laura Boon were participating photographers Peter Iain Campbell and Cezar Gabriel.

Starting off with a shorter version of the preview film, the quartet quickly launched into discussion about lives at sea, the importance of sea-workers, the changing environment and what affect COVID-19 has had on the industry.

Ordinarily for a webinar event I download the recording for captioning, perhaps a little cleaning up MS Video Editor. For the panel talk, I had low-res files of Cezar & Iain’s images saved so I could screen-share throughout to the webinar audience. Unfortunately, this does not translate well to a Zoom recording!

So, cleaning up took a little longer this time. I had to download a free trial of Adobe Premier Pro to pop in the image overlays and crediting, before running it through Zubtitle to caption. Enjoy it in all its polish below.

Premier Pro review - definitely a learning curve! definitely need a much bigger screen!

The captioned film was provided for one month exclusively to members and patrons as an RMG Live. For more info check out RMG Members and RMG Patrons. Thanks to Wolfpack Productions for the Exposure: Lives at Sea sneak preview film.

Exposure: Lives at Sea is generously supported by an individual who has chosen to remain anonymous, and by the Lloyd's Register Foundation through their support of the Lloyd's Register Foundation Public Curator: Contemporary Maritime.
